This week during one of my classes, we had a guest speaker, from California, speak to us about receiving text messages about "STD/HIV verification for online dating, allowing you to make better decisions about who you sleep with"---http://www.qpid.me/
I think the creators have a good idea about the future for STD results, since we all live in such a technological world. Our cellphones are attached to us, so it makes sense to have results at your fingertips. The idea is that you will receive a text either confirming or denying any STD so you can go around and basically sleep with anyone. At the same time, I do not like the idea that possibly someone can find out personally information via a text. I believe that we shouldn't move towards the future of text-messaging for such personal information , I think it should be plain and simple. You go to a clinic, get a blood test, and they call you telling you the results.
The company has a good idea, but I wouldn't support it.
Thanks for your blog post! I can understand why you personally wouldn't use the service and I respect that there are a lot of people just like you.
